Bernie's story
Hello my name is Bernie, and Im ready for my forever home!! I am 1.5 years old, and up until I was 11 months old, I was in Denver City, Texas full of ticks and old scars and was only given three days to get out when I was rescued! I was on my own for a while, now I adore hanging out with older kids, adults and other dogs. Im still learning how to feel comfortable in a kennel, but my foster mom is helping me figure it out. I would do great in a home where someone is home during the day and I dont have to spend a lot of time alone, as I love to curl up at your feet and keep you company all day! Ive recently found my bark and every once in a while surprise my foster family when I sniff something new outside and tell everyone about it.
Cuddling is one of my favorite activities- I will follow you everywhere you go just so I can sit next to you and steal your blanket. Ive been told I have the worlds greatest snore when Im really worn out. I love trips in the cars, going for walks with my foster sister, the dog park (you should see me run wild in a big field! Im hysterical to watch!), and taking long naps in the sunshine. I find cats FASCINATING and chase them so I can sniff them, so a home with a kitty might not be a great fit. I am super friendly to everyone I meet and wiggle with excitement. I am so ready for my new family. Older children will be a better fit for me, as I like to play catch/toss the ball. I get jumpy and nervous and crabby around little fast moving ones. I hope I can meet you soon!
