　　  Meet Berlioz (aka Bear)! Update 12/14/21Bear aka Berlioz is a HANDSOME, sweet, easy going, young male who has been with ARWOB since 02/2020 when rescued from Baja. Poor guy...he has been in the kennel situation and cat adoption centers several rotations and also foster homes. All of his fosters have nothing but great things to say about him as do the volunteers at the adoption centers. Because of his kennel time during the time with us, he has gained weight and is currently 14.5lbs so we are seeking a foster or adoptive home who can supervise his diet as he needs to lose 2 pounds. Bear is currently in a foster home with multiple cats and dogs which makes it hard to monitor his meals. He is a non-vocal kitty who loves to cuddle and snooze with a human or another cat. He will occasionally play with the other cats in the home by playing chase, wrestle around, but he mostly likes to watch out the window and loves when people call him over to say hi while working at the desk. His current friends are Figgy (aka Figaro) and Flounder, sobbing  adopted with either of those kitties would be great although he can also be adopted on his own.Perfect home for Bear: He would really do well wtih any family as he would do well as an only cat (but we prefer he is not as he does like to cuddle with other animals), but also in a home with cats or dogs or both. He is not seeking fights with other cats so he would do well with pretty much any other cat in the home either male, female, kittens, adults or seniors as he is pretty easy going.Social and easy going he is the perfect combination!Bear will be attending our last cat adoption event of the year on 12/18 and 12/19 so we hope you stop by and meet him OR submit an adoption application online to schedule a meet and greet in the 92117 area at a convenient day/time so we can get him home before the new year! Update 09/2021Berlioz is a very sweet, docile, young teen boy who was rescued by a local Baja citizen who would feed this young kitten who occasionally would visit in the evening. He was very hesitant of people, but, with time, he started to trust his feeder. After some time, he was able to pick him up and keep him at the vet clinic to board him while he requested help to place him up for adoption. He is such a handsome young boy. When he was at our cat adoption center, our volunteers got to know him well and always commented about how sweet and affectionate he is, and how much he loves being brushed on the top of his head..a pathway to his heart! His very best friend and companion at our adoption center and who has been with him in his foster homes is Figgy, a super sweet teen who is Bear's BFF and who has given him the confidence he was lacking when he was first rescued in Baja. 08/2021Foster Update:Bear (his nickname) loves to be rubbed and meet new people. He has been introduced to multiple dogs and he does very well with them as soon as he knows they won’t hurt him. He has done well meeting many new people and letting them pet him. Figaro (Aka Figgy) is his very best friend (who he would LOVE to go to a home with) but he would do well going to a house with another friendly cat, as well, if it is a friendly, mellow kitty. He is not a huge cuddler (unless it’s with Figgy) but as soon as he sees you walk up, he starts purring and rolls on to his back for belly rubs. Bear is a very sweet cat and needs to get used to your presence/you reaching out to pet him. if you get down on his level, though, and let him come to you, he is a purr monster and does not want you to stop petting him! He loves to play with his foster sister and best friend Figaro (who we call Fig) and his foster brother Monty (our own cat). All three play for hours running up and down the stairs, playing with toys (especially feather toys) and sneak attacking each other. Bear is very food motivated, once he hears the bag he goes running up the stairs, so his food intake will need to monitored.
