BENSON's story

　　Benson was surrendered to the shelter after his mushing career was cut short due to developing arthritis. Benson ran in both the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod last year, having an excellent time in both races. He is a sled dog that would like to become a house dog with the right training. He rides well in the car and is said to be housebroken! A true Husky, Benson would need consistent exercise, however, he should not be asked to do anything too strenuous due to his arthritis. Benson may benefit from a veterinary consult to see what sort of supplements or medications may help him to be more comfortable as he ages.
