　　Say hello to our big gentle BEN! He is a 5 year old BC/Lab/Cattle dog mix. We just love his freckled look! BEN was an owner surrender who lived with an elderly couple. At 70 lbs he was probably a bit overfed him and may not have gotten enough exercise, but he is now doing well adjusting to a healthier diet and getting regular walks. We would like to see him trim down 10 lbs or so.

　　BEN has been friendly with people and dogs he has met. While he is cat curious we expect he would be OK in a home with cats so long as they are tolerant of curious dogs. When he first came into rescue, he acted like he had not spent much time indoors and was a little nervous in the house. He has quickly learned the benefits of being indoors and now has good manners in the house. BEN is potty trained and uses the doggie door when he needs to go outside. He will sleep in a crate at night if coaxed in with some treats. He is getting used to riding in the car and now jumps in on his own.

　　BEN knows sit and will wait calmly for treats or a pat on the head. He loves to have his belly scratched and will roll over and offer his tummy happily. He is learning leash manners and walks ok with a harness. He likes to be close to his person and will follow you around the house or yard. BEN needs a gentle hand that will be patient with him and show him all the good things that life in a family has to offer.

　　BEN is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
