Bell & Howell Model 253 AX 8mm movie Projector (#258) $50
You are looking at a vintage mid 1950s Bell & Howell 8mm compact movie projector (automatic threading) which was ahead of its time. Bell & Howell was a manufacturer of motion picture machinery, founded in 1907 and headquartered in Wheeling, Illinois. These were the good old days when things were built to last to be handed down for generations.
It comes in a gray & brown nice metal case with a handle and an electrical cord that is in excellent condition. The projector turns on and runs well but, since it has the original bulb, it doesn?t work and the buyer will need to obtain one. It uses a DFC: 150 Watt, 125 Volts DFN T12 Shape G17Q-7 Base Photographic Incandescent Light Bulb. They sell for ~$30 on eBay and the price will reflect the difference.
With this vintage piece of mid-century decor, you get a taste of the yesteryears and you will appreciate how movies were shown in the past. These types of projectors are scarce and becoming harder to find especially in good working condition. This would make a great gift for an antique photography or camera enthusiast or it can make a cool display in any office or shop or a media room. This is truly a collector?s item.
Don?t miss out, another impressive addition and a must have for any camera collection.
