Belgian Shepherd Tervuren - Jane - Medium - Adult - Female - Dog

　　Jane is a 4 year old, black chow mix. She weighs 45lbs and is spayed. She loves people, and wants to cuddle as often as possible. Jane is a playful fairly low-energy dog. Her favorite activity is to go for walks, although needs some work still on heeling - she is practicing and learning everyday. When people are home, Jane can be found playing with her stuffed toys and chewing raw hides. Every once in a while, Jane will come check on us, then turn and run bouncing away to get a toy, frapping like a puppy. She likes to sit and shake hands before getting her food. When Jane sleeps, she'll often cross her back paws, like the lady that she is.

　　Jane takes time to get to know other dogs, and prefers to meet them by going on long walks before being allowed to hang out. Jane has shown aggression toward some dogs, so she requires someone willing to help her learn socialization skills, and recognize subtle cues of aggression. When Jane was left at PACC by her owners, she was reported as being great with dogs and kids. We believe her new sensitivity to dogs is a result of being at PACC for several months. We also think the aggression is more frequently directed toward female dogs. Despite this concern, she will make a perfect dog for the right guardian!

　　Jane would love a home where she can be the only dog, or with a very mellow dog that won't read into Jane's behaviors too much. Jane would love to have kids around to play with, go on a walk everyday, and be allowed to sleep on the bed.

　　We're working to help Jane adjust to life away from PACC by teaching her how to behave on walks, interact with other dogs, and not jump on doors. Jane does have a lot of hair, all the better to cuddle with, but requires frequent brushing, which she enjoys.
