Moving across the country and looking to get sale our big pieces and start new in the new place. I purchased this dark cherry set in 2007. There are a total of four pieces one tall dresser, one long dresser, a large mirror meant for the long dresser but I have had it above the tall on other arrangements, and a two drawer nightstand. It's hard wood no particle board and a deep finish. It does show wear it's gone through at least six moves, all the drawers are fully functional and intact no backs or bottoms sagging or jams. There are flaws on the finish and one handle is missing from each dresser these are easy fixes I just haven't made time to make them. This set is great if you are starting out and need something that works and isn't going to fall apart on you but don't want to drop furniture store money to furnish a room.
