My story
Becky is a Beagle-mix with 100% Beagle traits. Her nose is always to the ground, shell dig if you dont watch her, and full disclosure, will eat your TV remote! Shes just a happy go-lucky girl. Estimated age is 1 to 2 years old and she weighs about 28 lbs.Becky is all love and cuddles and very social with humans, kids, and dogs, but will chase a cat. She walks well on leash, is house trained and crate trained (would love to sleep with you if allowed) and, oops, will not go into her crate willingly. She goes full on limp and will be dead weight when you pick her up to put into her crate! Once in there, shes very quiet. If you have her do her business first, shes good for the night.Becky was turned into the shelter by her owners and sadly she was not very well cared for by them. Shed recently had puppies and was also heartworm positive. Her sweet nature soon made her a shelter favorite. Friends of Rescue has had her treated for heartworms and shes recovering nicely. Shell need to be tested at 6 months (Oct) to make sure the heartworms have cleared. That test is included in her treatment and will not cost her adopter any money. Once in foster care, it was noted that she had a bit of a limp. An x-ray revealed an earlier leg break that had healed on its own. Vet determined that no treatment was needed as shes fully mobile and has adjusted to the slight difference in her gait. It will be important to make sure she maintains a healthy weight.
