Beau's story

　　Beau was a sad and confused boy when he came to us. He was left at the shelter for being too old, but it was clear that life in his previous home lacked the love and care that this special Chihuahua so deserves. He would lick the floors, and was skeletal from poor nutrition. His skin was red, itchy and covered with sores. Because he is almost blind, Beau was scared and disoriented and seemed to have never sat in anyones lap before.

　　Sometimes these clues offer us a glimpse into the past of our senior rescues, but the silver lining is that these oldsters are always ready to leave the past behind them and start anew. And that is exactly what Beau did. What emerged in the weeks after his rescue and settling into a foster home where he is loved and adored is a small dog with a lot of confidence. Beau is fearless

　　he walks through the world a vulnerable creature, and he knows it. His vision is very poor, his teeth had all fallen out by the time he got to us

　　and yet, he knows he is safe. And loved. And now he has a new, adorable little strut as he strolls around his yard, his home and even his foster moms office, where he often falls asleep on the job. Beau is quiet, housetrained and an incredible companion who loves to cuddle on the sofa or snuggle up in his big bed, full of cozy blankets for him to enjoy.

　　Beau charms everyone he meets with his pluck and willingness to meet new people and dogs of all sizes and shapes. He adapts quickly and if people dont know any better, would be hard-pressed to realize he cant see.

　　Beau is a tiny dog who has come a long way in a matter of weeks. Adopters should know that this boy loves to eat, and requires a diet of soft food, which he willingly gobbles up twice a day. Beau accompanies his foster mom all over town at appointments and errands, and is a perfectly behaved companion. She even snuck him into a caf for a work meeting, and he fell asleep in her bag beside her. Hes a relaxed, trusting sweet boy who somehow knows that he is safe now and forever.
