Beatrice is a beautiful, peaceful pigeon who survived pigeon racing (barely). S/he was found grounded and taken to Silicon Valley Animal Care Center and when Palomacy rescued her, she was emaciated and unable to use her legs. It took weeks of supportive care (including daily hydrotherapy) for Beatrice to regain the ability to stand, walk & fly. We don't know her gender (no courtship behavior at all so far) but she seems likely to be female. She'd do best in a gentle flock or indoors as a pet. (She's not a people bird but she could be with the patience.) She is a very deep, soulful pigeon. She makes eye contact in a more meaningful way than some. She is shy, but looks as if she would really like to have a special someone to warm up to and share all of her love with! She does have some ongoing spinal pain which causes her to limp from time to time. She's good at laying down to relieve some of the pressure for herself. Please apply to adopt /birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
