Baxter's story
Baxter was recently returned to us through no fault of his own. He has lived in a home for a couple of years.
He is not cat or small dog tolerant.
So they call me Baxter. My brothers BeetleJuice and Baron are also SA GREY hounds. BeetleJuice left the track before us because someone nipped his ear. (It wasn't me!) He smeared blood all over and made it look really bad, so he could move into a foster home right away. BeetleJuice already found a forever home and moved to Sierra Vista. I hope to follow in his footsteps, after all, we're a lot alike.
I'm a big, goofy, lovable guy. I'm not ever two years old yet, so I have lots of energy. I LOVE to run and play with people and other greyhounds. I give kisses and hugs, and I really, really want to be a lap dog. Even if I'm three-quarters on the sofa and one-quarter on you, I'll be happy. Come on, you know you want some excitement in your life....pick me! Baxter is not small dog or cat tolerant.
FOSTER UPDATE:
Baxter is a big boy with an even bigger heart. If he was a female, his name would be joy. Baxter is the happiest hound you'll ever meet. Baxter settled into our home immediately. Baxter loves people and enjoys spending time together and will follow you, room-to-room. Baxter thinks he's a lap dog, so he will jam as much of his body as possible into your lap. Because of his size, that's his head and about a fourth of his body.
Baxter had no issues with house training. He never attempted to mark and never had an accident in the house. We often kept our back door open, but if it was closed he would put his nose on the door. Baxter is very good natured and had no issues with our male greyhound, female foster greyhound and female whippet. He did attempt to play with the whippet, which intimidated her simply due to his size. Baxter would love to have another playful large dog with whom he could romp around. Baxter slept quietly through the night on a dog bed, in an xpen beside our bed.
Baxter is bouncy, goofy boy who will bring life and laughter into his forever home.
