Can you fill these sad eyes with happiness and a forever home?
Bonnie is a four year old female basset hound. She has a white coat with liver red markings. Look at those wonderful basset ears!! Bonnie is a little thin, weighing only 34 pounds and needs to put on a few pounds. She came from a backyard breeder and was kept in a small cage with another male who kept attacking her, thus all the scars on her face. Poor girl. She was then placed in a rescue and adopted out. But after a year, she was returned because the person who adopted her had too many dogs (over the neighborhood limit) and someone complained. The original foster could not take her back and asked us to take Bonnie on -- how could we resist those sad "hush puppy" eyes!
Bonnie is good with other dogs and lived fine with cats. She LOVES children. Bonnie was housetrained with the foster but may need a refresher course. She is fine in a crate. Bonnie would not do well in an apartment -- read up on Basset hounds, they can be vocal!! She is up to date on her vet care, spayed, microchipped and is heartworm negative. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Bonnie is just a wonderful dog who is ready for her truly forever home.
Our adoption fee is $75. Read more information on our adoption process . Then, if you feel your home might be the right forever home and you would like to adopt a dog, submit an application
