My story
After three tiny kittens caught outside were brought to us, we asked if their mom was around. She was. So we asked the finders if they could try to trap her. It is very important to us to never leave a momma cat behind. Even if mom is feral, we can get her fixed before letting her back out. This prevents more kittens from being born outside in a few months. It took four days for mom to go into the trap, but as soon as we put her back with her babies, we knew she was friendly. She had no issue with us handling the kittens and she loved to be petted. She became even more affectionate as time went by and is a total lovebug now. While she doesn't run up to people for attention, she is fine with any new person coming into the lounge. She accepts love from anyone who wants to give it to her. Since we named her kittens after coffee (Espresso, Java, and Kona), we ended up naming mom Barista (or Bari for short). Bari is a laid back young girl who likes to spend her time chilling in a cat tree. She would do great in a home where she gets lots of attention, but where she can also have time to herself. Bari is okay being around cats, but we have not seen her engage in play with any of them.Barista was recently spayed, vaccinated with all required vaccines, and microchipped. She tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She is currently staying at our cat lounge located in Orland Park, and her adoption fee is $135.If you would like to meet Bari, please stop by the lounge, located at 11310 W Southwest Hwy, Orland Park (on Southwest Highway/Route 6, just west of Wolf Road). If you would like to complete an adoption application for Bari, you can do it on this site or on our website at ogafil.org.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT OFFER SAME DAY ADOPTIONS, AND WE NEED AT LEAST 48 HOURS TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Barista (Bari), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
