My story
Barbera is a an energetic and playful lady who bounds like Tigger. She pounces when she plays with other dogs- and she loves other dogs!! She really need a playmate of her energy level. She s estimated to be 3 years old and came to Colorado with her litter of puppies. All her puppies got adopted and now it is her turn. Barbera is looking for someone to rightfully spoil her and make up for all she has missed. Barbera is extremely dog friendly and initially submissive so she can get along with almost any dog. After she warms up she loves to chase, wrestle, and crash into her buddies. She likes people but is initially wary. She can easily be bought with treats and then pets. Barbera rides quietly in the car (though initially nervous where we are going). Barera's foster mom doesn't think she has been allowed inside in her previous life as she was scared to come through the doors but has gotten over that fear. She has had very few accidents in the house over 7 weeks and uses the doggie door if available. Barbera enjoyed 5-6 mile walks and would love to be a hiking or running buddy. She walks nicely on a leash and was unfazed by chickens, ducks and other wildlife. She does have a little separation anxiety if she is by herself but if her canine buddy is with her- she is content. She did eat a remote control and a pillow when left by herself (our fault). She is working on crate training slowly. She is a little spoiled and sleeps in the bed with her foster mom and resident dogs. For looking like a hound dog, she does not bay or howl like one. She is generally pretty quiet but will alert you if someone comes up the driveway or in the house. She prefers women over men but has done wonderful with her foster dad.
She is being fostered in Colorado Springs and is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, wormed and soon to be spayed.
