  My story

  Your perfect adventure buddy!

Hello! My name is Bamba, and I’m a 2-year-old, spayed Hound mix female, weighing in at 31 pounds.  I’m so grateful for my second chance at life and can’t wait to find my furever family!

I was one of the many who were rescued from the horrific conditions of Ellos Son La Razon shelter in Mexico.  While there, I had been living in a small kennel with multiple other doggies who were not given enough food and water.  Food was thrown in our cage by the handful, and we had to learn how to get our fair share in order to survive.  Because of this, I was severely malnourished when TAP saved me, and I was suffering from respiratory issues and other health problems.  However, I’ve been in foster care for several months now, and my recovery has been going great!

My foster mama says that I’m a loving and friendly girl, and I’m extremely loyal to those who I’ve bonded with.  I love to greet new people with lots of kisses and a wagging tail.  I’m energetic, too, as I do still have some puppy energy in me and I get the zoomies pretty regularly.  My favorite activities include getting belly rubs, playing with my toys (especially tug-o-war, bouncy balls, and nylon bones), going for walks/hikes/runs, and hanging out with doggie friends who I already know.  Give me a big, open backyard, and I will run around at top speed for hours!

I’ve also been working on a few things while in foster care.  I have some anxious tendencies and tend to get nervous while in the car.  Going into new buildings or homes make me a little apprehensive, as well, but usually I can be encouraged to go in when treats are involved or when I see a new person to greet and say “hi” to.  Once inside this new environment, I do just fine!  I am also working on my reactivity to other doggies.  I regularly bark when they pass the house and I also jump at them when I’m on a leash.  As such, a harness is recommended for me while I’m out on walks.  Finally, I do have some separation anxiety that I’m trying to work through.  If left alone for more than an hour, I tend to chew on things, so it’s best to be left inside a crate with anything chewable out of reach.  Other than that, though, I am fully potty-trained and can stay in a crate about 4-5 hours during the day with no issues.

I think I’d do best in an active home, especially one with doggie siblings and/or kiddos.  Because I love humans so much, I’d prefer to have company during the day.  A work-from-home type situation would be ideal, but I also can be left in the crate during the day for long stretches of time, too.

Do I sound like two paws up or what? My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.
