Bailey's story

　　Can a dog improve with age? At seven plus years old, this lady certainly has.

　　She was some 50 pounds overweight and listless when she came to the shelter. After several months of regular walks and a lower-calorie diet, she has shed 30 pounds and recovered her joie de vivre.

　　With her expressive eyes and her regal walk, she is a balanced mix of her Chow Chow/Shepherd breeds. Her attitude, intelligence, and lumbering ways will bring humor and joy to your day.

　　She loves to play fetch and can catch a tennis ball like a pro even when thrown like a line drive (must see to believe). She covets her toys, but easily relinquishes them for a treat (fresh fruits and veggies are her go-to favorites) She gets along fine with other dogs. She enjoys car rides to anywhere and is quiet as a church mouse on the trip, although when she is left home, she enjoys the security and comfort of her kennel. She is not a barker, although she issues alerts for danger and for time-to-pee, as well as a few talking protests that are comical. She understands commands such as Come, Sit, No, Let's-go, Wait, and OK, and is working on Down and Stay. She is a pleasure to walk, has a peaceful easy gait, corrects easily if needed, and is mellow in the presence of wildlife.

　　This pretty lady is ready for her forever home so she can continue to give and receive affection, enjoy her healthy lifestyle as she melts away a few more pounds, and to be your furry loyal companion.
