Ava was returned to Purrfect Pals because her owner of ten years had to move and was unable to keep her. Ava was stressed in the store environment, so we sent her to a terrific foster family where she was the only pet. Ava's foster family describes her as a very sweet older kitty who truly loves attention. While she can take some time to warm up to new people, once you've won her over, she's as loving and affectionate a kitty as anyone could wish. This lovely girl liked to greet her foster family with happy meows when they come home after work and to talk about the events of her day. At just ten years old, she has a very playful side that comes out when she's feeling secure in her home. She enjoys batting balls around the house and throwing toys up into the air and chasing after them. Ava likes to lounge at the top of the stairs, under beds, and in quiet, dark hiding spots where she can snooze undisturbed. When Ava is feeling comfortable, she loves to be petted and will knead and purr happily. Although she will let you pick her up, she prefers sitting next to you to be petted when she's ready. Loud noises and fast movements make her nervous and she doesn't trust little children. Ava would probably do best in an adult only household, or one with older cat-savvy children. She has impeccable litter box habits and is happy to use scratching posts to exercise her claws. She also needs to be an only kitty - she truly dislikes other cats. Ava needs a forever family, who will give her lots of love, warmth, safety, and TLC for the rest of her life. We know there is someone out there looking for a quiet, loving companion and Ave would love to meet them. Like all Purrfect Pals cats, Ava has been viral tested, altered, microchipped and started on vaccines. This kitty is currently in our Lynnwood Petsmart adoption center (18820 Highway 99, Lynnwood, WA 98036).
