This carrying case is designed to hold 24 audiocassettes or 24 eight track audiotapes. It has a lock and comes with one key -- the other key is misplaced.

　　Since audiocassettes are smaller than eight track tapes, there is empty space below the cassettes in the case when it is used for audiocassettes.

　　I purchased it new several years ago and used it for storing audiocassettes.

　　The outside dimensions are approximately 6 inches x 13 inches x 9 1/2 inches for the case. The 9 1/2 inch dimension is about 11 inches, if you include the handle.
