My story

　　Arthur is a very sweet, calm and loving dog. During the day he will follow you everywhere and lay by your side. He loves being pet. He is potty and house trained, doesn`t jump, and can stay home alone with another dog to keep him company. He is about 60 pounds, on the smaller side for a German Shepherd. Arthur was hit by a car and one of the muscles on the top of his face atrophied but he walks and runs without problems and we are not aware of any other health issues. He was very fearful in the shelter and was scared to get the leash on. He is walking fine on the leash now, but when people approach him with things in their hands it can be scary for him. He was very good when he received a bath, and relaxed when he was brushed. Crunching down and gently calling him and petting him will help to gain his trust, but Arthur might get scared of young children chasing him. He is really good with older children but we do not recommend children under 10 that won`t know to give him space, due to his timid nature. He`s equally friendly with men, women and older children, which is unusual for fearful dogs. Once Arthur is adjusted to his new home and new person, he is very affectionate, and he would benefit from another dog in his new home to feel comfortable. Arthur was good with both male and female dogs he met. Despite the young age (between one and 3 years old), he does not need an extensive amount of exercise and will be happy with backyard playtime with your pup. Arthur is looking for an adopter who is experienced with fearful dogs and can be patient with him during a few days when Arthur gets used to them. He is a very soft dog and can potentially be a good fit for a dog selective dog at a condition they won`t bully him to the point of getting more shut down. Arthur is very friendly to all animals including chickens and we think he can successfully live with a cat.
