My story

　　Be happy like h-Appa!

　　Hey friends! I am Appa, a 1 year old, male Whippet mix, and weigh a mere 19 lbs. I was rescued from the hellhole ESLR where I spent most of my time in a crate. I have mastered the art of potty training! I always do my business outside and know how to use the doggy door like a pro. My safe space is my crate, and I feel secure and cozy in it. I'm a quick learner! I'm adapting to life outside the crate and starting to use my paws more like a true doggie should.

　　I'll admit, I'm a bit timid and skittish around new people, but with patience and understanding, I'll open up to you and shower you with affection. Loud sounds make me anxious, so a calm and peaceful environment would be perfect for me. I love playing with other dogs, and if you have a girl dog, we'll be instant pals! I dont have any experience around kids or cats. Cuddling is my favorite activity once I trust you. I crave human compassion, and I'll shower you with love once I feel safe with you. Sometimes, I get carried away with my enthusiasm for life and may chew on things. But don't worry, with some guidance, I'll learn what's acceptable to chew on. Despite a rough past, I'm a happy boy, and my potential shines through. In just one week with my current caregivers, I've shown remarkable progress. I'm on my way to becoming a wonderful, well-behaved companion.

　　I believe I'd do great with a family or even a single person, as long as there is an abundance of love and patience. My ideal home would have a girl dog to keep me company and show me the ropes.
