Apollo: Siamese mix (FCID# 01/07/2019-17)'s story
Look who entered our doors! This is Apollo (FCID# 01/07/2019 - 17). Apollo is a handsome Tabby Point Siamese. Apollo has been taken-in by a foster family. Here is what the family has discovered:
About a year old, Apollo is a stunning mixture of Siamese and Grey Tabby. He has the lovely face of a tabby, with hints of stripes along his fur, but his coloring- darker paws, tail, and the classic dark ears is all Siamese. And his eyes- He got the gorgeous dark blue eyes.
He got more then just looks from his Siamese parentage though. Apollo loves to talk, both to you and to himself. He meows and trills a good bit.
Good with other cats, he really wants to make friends and play. I think he would do lovely in a household that has another playful cat! He is full of energy, and incredibly athletic.
Sweet and affectionate, Apollo was clearly brought up as a house cat, before being dumped outside where our organization found him.
He has a few bad habits from his time in whatever past home he had, including the occasional soft play bite(never enough to break skin) that is so common in cats who were hand wrestled a lot with as kittens.
He should be considered like a dog when it comes to people food, and will be your very bestest friend when you are eating. Purring and rubbing against you, all the while waiting for the moment he can sneakily steal a piece. Especially if you have cheese. Apollo wants all of your cheese, and it is advised to not leave any food, especially cheese, on counters unattended.
He is very affectionate, and I knew I had to foster him when I saw him giving these sweet hugs to everyone at the clinic! He likes to put his paws on your chest so he can nuzzle his face against yours, and trust me, it feels just as heart melting as it sounds,
He is easy to pick up, and enjoys cuddling and company. He is a high energy cat, who needs to be played with regularly if you want him to be a happy and stable cat.
I would highly suggest micro-chipping Apollo, as he shows a lot of interest in exploring more of the world.
That being said, he does have some temperamental moments, where he growls a bit and you need to leave him alone. Not often, and generally provoked by something he does not like, but I do recommend he not go to a home with small or immature children who will not recognize when he needs his space. He does not like his feet handled, possibly due to past owners cutting his claws painfully short.
He would be perfect for a responsible teenager, or any other family though!
So long as you interact with him regularly, giving him lots of play and cuddle time, you will love this cat. His eyes will melt the heart of everyone who sees him, he is very intelligent and wants to make friends with everyone. His unique looks are worthy of an Instagram account, and his personality is strong but playful and sweet.
