My story
Thank you so much for looking into Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House for the newest addition to your family.
My name is Apollo, I came to Wags and Whiskers with my brother Knight. We used to have a home, and be loved, but that was when we were tiny, fluffy and adorable. Our little girl's mother, unfortunately, made us move outside of the apartment into the elements once we were not adorable little kittens anymore. Our little girl still tried to give us love and attention, but that only lasted so long once we weren't in her home anymore. That was about 2 years ago; since then, we have been fending for ourselves in the colony of cats that also reside at those apartments. Recently, management has had a change in heart and has decided that trapping the colony cats, and dropping them off at a random location would be better for the business, and because our owner did not claim us any longer, we were on the list to be dumped off to die. Luckily, one of the volunteers at Wags and Whiskers has been coming to our apartments for over a year, and has made good friends with my brother and I. When she heard of the threats being made against us, she stepped right up and took us home. Unfortunately, she has 4 of her own cats, and we know we can't stay here forever, though we are more than hopeful that our perfect home will find us, now that we are safe, fed and warm, we can wait for them to find us.
At Wags and Whiskers' The Cat House, we do not discriminate against any animal based on their age, current health, or pre-existing medical condition(s). We are a dedicated team of volunteers, with a strong passion for animals and a very special bond with the injured, abused and abandoned. Due to the fact that we work so closely with qualified veterinarians, we are able, and willing, to take on the most complex medical cases to help give them the chance, that ever animal deserves, at a full, happy and healthy life. Our primary goal is giving hope to the hopeless; your adoption helps make a difference.
All of our cats are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.
Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each cat. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left in a box on the side of a road, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners.
