Right here is an excellent piece of Texas history-- a set of theater chairs from the Saenger Theatre in Texarkana, Texas (now called the Perot Theatre). These are not two seats from a row, but an initial different linked pair with cast iron at each end! According to what I found online (links below), the Saenger Theatre was integrateded 1924 and reconditioned in the very early 1980s. These chairs appear like they're from the 1920s, though the upholstery and seat springs are so great, I suspect the chairs have been recovered ever since, possibly in the 1980s. The individual I purchased these from told me no one has sat in them for 20 years (they were stashed in a corner of a stockroom structure). The cast iron looks fantastic, and the chairs appear to be comfy. (No one needs to sit on these up until they're mounted on a piece of wood; from the cast iron legs, the base determines 9" deep and 40" broad.) There is some wear and breaking on the wood seat backs; the armrests look great. I will think about for partial trade antique electronic cameras, watch, porcelain indicators, Civil War, WWI, or WWII products, or other antiques.
