The angular writing surface area on the top can be opened for a drawer as seen in the picture. A straight fracture on the composing surface than can be taken care of with glue.
This desk owes its name to a Captain Davenport who was the very first to commission the design, from Waring & Gillow of Lancaster, near the end of the 18th century. If Captain Davenport was in the British Army or the Royal Navy, in a sense then it might also be considered a Campaign desk though there are no records suggesting. This desk form was popular throughout the 19th century. no pets - no smoke. All sales are last.
