Antique Oak Bookcase or Display Cabinet with Glass Door. We have used this to display china and vases for nearly 40 years. The sides, bottom and top are solid white oak with a natural aged boiled linseed oil finish. The carved details at the top edges appear to be done by hand. The doors are oak framing around antique glass, with a full mortise lock, made by Eagle Lock company in Terryville, CT (this is the only age identifying detail on the piece - this company was active 1880 to 1940). The glass is clear but showing the rippling of glass that has settled over time. The bookcase is set on 3½" high scrolled legs with oak veneer, that has chipped and worn off in places. The legs have 1" antique casters. There are 4 adjustable shelves, pine with oak molding on front edges, 43" wide and 12½ deep. The height is 59" from floor to top including the legs and casters, 55" without legs and casters. The width is 46" measured across the top or bottom, but 44½ from side panel to side panel. The depth at the top and bottom is 15". This is a beautiful piece we are sad to part with, but we no longer have room in our renovated kitchen! Crating and shipping would be very expensive, I am offering this for local pickup only.
