Retiring and scaling down: I am a collector of rare antiques and have never ever, ever seen anything like this very early 1900s oak Assessor workplace "claim" cabinet. I purchased it from an antique shop in Central City about 30 years ago ... long before Central City was turned into a betting town. Undoubtedly at that time, Central City was a little, sleepy tourist town. This piece actually came out of the Central City Assessor workplace where miners concerned tape-record their claims. In mint condition and a real discussion piece, I have actually loving taken care of this antique and truly dislike to part with it. Most drawers do not have the "spring clip" although a couple of do. Numerous have the "transfer" slips glued to the bottom of the drawer. All hardware is original and the brass bar at the top states "The Globe Ideal File." The system remains on its original steel wheels; the cabinet was rolled into a vault nightly. Measurements are 57" broad, 16" deep and 75" tall. Smoke free environment.
