This magnificent Louis XV design occasional table is satinwood with an intricately inlaid marquetry top including a leaf and floral concept over a background of flamed birch. Marquetry appears to include boxwood, rosewood, mahogany and several other woods. The top has a sculpted applied raised edge, the whole on fragile cabriole legs signed up with by an X-form stretcher with a raised central platform. The sides have a delicately through-carved pattern on each side.

　　The top is connected with early machine-cut screws and the sides and legs are joined utilizing wooden dowels. There are 2 sets of screws that attach each stretcher leg to the central platform although one set of screws appears to this day from the late 1800's (presumably to muscle building supplement the original screws). Based upon the construction and device marks, it appears to this day from the mid 1800's. It stands 28-3/4" tall, 18-1/2" large and 18-1/2" deep overall. The building of the table is very tight, however it is really light and fragile.

　　Generally, the table is in really great condition with light scratches and wear consistent with age and gentle use. The raised edge on the lower platform is missing from a location about 2" long.
