ANTIQUE JAPANESE SCROLL RUSTIC ROUND FACE SCHOOLHOUSE WALL CLOCK
I have an old Antique Japanese Scroll rustic Schoolhouse wall clock. I can not find the maker's name. It has a distinct dark oak wood cabinet with striking black painted border. There are some small surface blemishes / chips on the bottom of the cabinet. (A number of the joints in the wood cabinet, around the face, are not flush.) The door is embellished with gold stenciling. (There is a collapsing black paper? surface area inside the door.) The paper face is in rough condition, fading, small areas missing out on, yellowed, etc. (Please take a close take a look at the photos for the actual condition.) There are crossed flags trade mark on the face. The inner bezel is wavy / uneven in spots. The external bezel is tarnished. It measures 22" x 12" broad at top (8" large at bottom) x 4" deep. There is old falling apart paper with Japanese writing on the rear end. It features a secret (India # 11)to wind it up. The gold pendulum has leaves on it.
We could not get this clock to run. It "ticks", but will certainly not keep running. It gongs on the hour only.
