I am selling my Antique Steamer Trunk Henry Likly & Co. - Maker - Est. 1844 Rochester, NY. I was given a trunk
of my grandparents so this one has to go :(
Henry Likly was one of the better known and respected trunk makers of his day. Established 1844 in
Rochester, NY., Henry just seemed to make have a knack for making trunks that were comfortable
and well fitting to those needing one. His offerings were quite varied over the years from very simple
and practical to very nice. Part of his popularity was due to the fact that Henry often used
Basswood in his trunks construction. It is a strong wood that is quite light when
compared to many other types so his trunks were easier to handle. Being the Erie Canal ran
through Rochester probably did little to hurt business either.
The size is 33'Wide, 23" tall and 21" deep. It is in great condition considering how old it is.all of the hindges work perfectly.
