Antique Apothecary Brass Scale Weight Set (#255) $120

　　You are viewing a stunning and very rare antique apothecary?s weight set from the later 1890?s used in the United Kingdom by Pharmaceutical Chemists or Pharmacists to measure medical recipes. This method of weighing was used exclusively in the UK, Europe and America until the late 1960's.

　　The apothecary collection includes a solid wood holder that contains 12 brass apothecary balance scale weights from 500 grams to as small as 1 gram. There are no markings to indicate the manufacturer, but the round brass weights are all numbered with its corresponding weight as well as the symbol of a crown imbedded in the larger weights and two olive leaves on the smaller tabs implies a British or European origin.

　　As you can see, this apothecary has been around for many years and it?s still a very attractive piece of history (see photos). It could use some polish and the brass shined, and it would clean up nicely for a display artifact or make a great gift for a dcor piece in a pharmacy or doctor?s office.
