This antique 19th century violin is a rare find. Crafted for WE HILL and SONS in Germany (my opinion), with "Vuillaume Jeune", (young William) label. Probably made for this case and marketed to young violinists. It was made in the latter part of the 19th century. It's a compact model. length of back is 13 7/8" ...this reminds me of those dark fiddles with matthias hornstainer labbels. One piece back, placement pins at top and bottom. The violin comes with a WE Hill & Sons case, making it a complete set for restoration. Perfect for those who want to restore its former glory. Some of the restoration has been done, see pics. has a New bass bar, new pegs. some interior work done, replaced linings, some filling woodworm. Some top plate corners replaced. needs fingerboard and set up. needs an ear replaced on scroll. Fully lined, blocked, no sound post or bass bar cracks. nice sleek, low arching. Sold as is for expert restorer.Cool case. latches work, needs a handle.. velvet looks good, blanket is very good. compartments and bow holders work, see pics, nice ebony? bow spinners.will be well packed. buyer pays actual shipping costs. if i charge too much i refund the difference. i always try to pack light and well.
