Antique Mellophone Horn Windsor Model Elkhart IN 3 Valves Conn Mouthpiece Serial #  64767 No CaseItem Description  Here is a nice Antique American Mellophone for your buying consideration.  Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!Nice antique Mellophone antique mellophone from Elkhart, IN USA.   The mellophone body is all there.  The valves move freely.  This instrument has the serial number of #64767 on it.There are some dents and dings on the mellophone body.  The bell is pretty intact, no dent there.  The nickel plated body shows some finish loss and minor corrosion. 2 of the 4 slides still slide open and close. The bore size of each slide is .5".  The body of the mellophone has "Windsor Elkhart IN" and "U.S.A." emblazoned on it.The valves operate smoothly and we have oiled the valve assemblies and cylinders to keep them from getting any corrosion, and they are already quite clean.  Nice emblazoning of the name and maker on the outside of the bell.   One of braces by mouthpiece is missing.As noted, the mouthpiece has "Conn" noted on it.  Have not been able to get mouthpiece loose from the horn body.  There is some scratching to the mouthpiece on the sides.  No marks that would impede play where the lips would make contact with the end.The Mellophone is 15-5/8" long, by 16" across (18" w/ mouthpiece in place).  The bell is 10.5" across.  The Mellophone does not come with a case.  This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition.  The instrument will most likely need refurbishing to make this instrument playable again.  Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
