My story
Annie Oakley (goes by Oakley) is a 7 month old stunning Rottweiler mix. Oakley is potty trained, knows sit, lay down, and shake but "come is one that she is still working on getting reliable and consistent. She loves to play with other dogs, loves to be outside frolicking, but her favorite thing is probably kids. She is timid around strangers but if it is a kid, she is immediately wagging her entire body and ready for them to smother her with kisses. She has been exposed to all kinds of experiences: traveling, hiking, biking, horses, cows, and enjoys a good car ride anytime. Oakley is the whole package: gentle, sweet, beauty, brains, kind with children & her family, but has one major quirk: she will become over aroused and reactive towards strangers with no notice. Some days she is plum happy to walk through stores and meet new people other days, she is barking and lunging at them. She needs a strong but patient home that can help her work through these triggers and help her create a more consistently positive association with strangers. If you are interested in Annie Oakley but want to learn more about how to work on this behavior, reach out to us! We would be happy to walk you through the process of how to get started!
From her foster: Annie Oakley (Oakley is her main name) is the sweetest girl ever, just needs some time to adjust and trust. She has more of a hard time trusting men, but will definitely open up just needs some time and lots of loves and treats! She loves belly rubs! Her favorites toy is a tennis ball or a football! She does good with kids and other dogs (preferably smaller ones, she gets a little nervous around bigger dogs). She can get anxious meeting them sometimes, so she needs a slow approach!

Thousands of dogs and puppies are sitting in overcrowded, loud shelters. AAAR is giving our best efforts to rescue as many dogs/pups that are otherwise left to die or live their lives at a shelter alone.
We need the community's help!! Please consider fostering, volunteering, adopting, donating, and spreading awareness!
Most of these dogs and pups have never experienced love from humans before being brought to shelters. Consider falling in love with a rescue dog, and showing them what life is about!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Annie Oakley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
