American Staffordshire Terrier - Louie - Medium - Adult - Male
Courtesy Listing! Please contact: START rescue group, care of: Steve Spiro (323) , or: [email removed] and not the rescue group connected to this page! Louie is approximately 4 or 5 years old. He was rescued in November of 2011. He had been abandoned in Big Tujunga Canyon where he roamed free around 4 months. He was very thin and afraid. After he was rescued, he had veterinary care where he was neutered, given all of his vaccinations and micro-chipped. He had to have 5 teeth pulled as they were broken and had exposed nerves. Once in his foster home he has been very loving, gentle and obedient. He is housebroken and likes being inside and he likes to ride in the car. He is a well trained and sweet dog with people. He sits and waits to get permission to eat. He sits and stays at an open gate. He heels and walks well on a leash. He ignores other dogs when walking, with a gentle reminder if he forgets. He is not social with all dogs. He has gotten along with some dogs, but it would be best if he were in a home without other dogs and cats. With proper socialization from an experienced dog owner or a professional that could change. Louie would love to find a good forever home.
