My story
Amber is a special girl that will just break your heart with her story.
Before she came to High Country, she was living in Winslow, AZ, fending for herself and scavenging for food scraps on someone's property. Who knows how long she had been living like that? Amber also had an injury and her finders knew she needed help. She was brought to us for care and that's when her story, as we know it, begins!
To start, Amber is about 2 years old and weighs a little less than 50lbs. When initially brought in to our shelter, she was under-socialized, underweight, and had a severe eye injury. The eye needed to be removed to give her her best shot at life! She spent some time in a loving foster home to heal, but now she is back at the shelter and needs a hero to adopt her. Amber is still scared and shut down, she spends a lot of time hiding in the corners of her room. But we think she likes other dogs and she is potty pad trained!
She needs someone who will understand the hardships she has gone through, and give her the compassion and patience to trust people and accept love. A home with a yard is ideal for her, she is not leash trained.
Please reach out to the director Liz Olson, [email protected] or come and visit her at High Country Humane today. She needs you!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Amber - loves other dogs!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
