  Ali's story

  Bonded with Placido, Sweet

Ali, the calico, and Placido, the grey, were found as kittens in the middle of the street in Korea by a San Jose native. They are bonded and it would be great to be adopted together.

Their rescuer is returning to the United States and bringing them with her, but she needs to find them a home due to having a full house of animals already. She is worried about leaving them in Korea for their general welfare.

Ali and Placido are doing well, they are current on their shots, and spayed and neutered, too. Their rescuer thought they had really bad eye infections, but it turns out they have microphthalmia.

She took them to an animal ophthalmologist in Seoul. Although they both have microphthalmia, they do have eyes - you just can't see them.

The little girl, Ali, the calico, has had issues with her right eye, but it's doing much better. The ophthalmologist prescribed her eye drops and ointment. She needs to have the ointment at least 4 times a day (to maintain), but her eye is nowvwithin normal eye pressure range.

Ali, the calico, and Placido, the grey, are not aggressive at all and getting more friendly. Because of the eye drops, Ali is wary of people and will try to run away most of the time. Once caught, she is fine.

She'll let her rescuer pet her and/or put in her eye drops. She doesn't bite or

scratch. The vet said she hisses a bit but no scratching. She has started purring while being petting, so her rescuer thinks she can become more comfortable if her eye continues to improve.

Placido doesn't need eye drops anymore (he had an eye infection with a lot of discharge early on), and has become more receptive. He'll run if Ali runs, but usually he'll crouch first, then he'll lay down and roll from side to side. He's more likely to purr when being petted, too.

He loves playing with crinkle balls or anything that makes a similar noise. Ali is more cautious, but like playing with feather toys (with a bell) and usually when she thinks no one is around.

They come with food, bowls, carriers, medical records, and Ali's eye medicine.
