Alaskan Malamute - Beast From Korea - Large - Adult - Male - Dog
Beast has traveled a long journey. He was in a shelter in Korea that was being closed. Beast is a very, very sweet dog.He loves to be petted, and enjoys being brushed. Basically he enjoys whatever kind of attention he can get from people :) He has lived chained or in a kennel his entire life. No opportunity to run around, no playing in the snow or snuggling inside with his family...nothing. Beast's life has consisted of frustration, hunger, boredom, and loneliness. Typical of most Malamutes, Beast cannot live with cats or other small pets. He would most likely be fine living with a female dog about his size, which is about 80 lbs. Beast has never been inside a house, so he would need to be house trained. He does go potty on leash, so house training should be relatively easy. Our vet estimates him to be about 5 years old, he?s very agile and happy to walk as long as you?d like. A home where he could be in a secure area would be best as he will not tolerate a crate, or being confined to a small space.
If you are interested in adopting, please email [email removed] for an application. Once your application is processed, a home visit is required. There is an adoption fee of $225 for each adult dog. Our dogs are healthy, spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, and heartworm negative. Unfortunately rescues don't have the ability to hold dogs for adopters. Dogs are adopted to approved adopters on a first come, first serve basis. Our goal is to get a dog adopted to a forever home so that we can then help another one. If you are interested in one of our dogs, the first step is to request an application, which is typically sent to you the same day you have emailed your request. We process your application the day it is received. The next step is a home visit, and then you will be invited to meet the dogs. While we represent the State of Delaware, the majority of AMROD?s dogs are fostered in west-central Virginia. Contact preference is by email, [email removed], rather than by phone. We appreciate you considering an AMROD dog!
