My story

　　Meet Akira!Akira is an approximately 8 year old Alaskan Malamute mix! She came into our care back in October of 2022 severely malnourished and since then we have been working on maintaining a healthy weight! As of January Akira has made so much improvement we are hoping to now land her a fur-ever home! Akira is a very sweet and loving dog, her favorite things are to do are to sun bathe and play with her favorite squeaky toys! She would make a perfect companion dog as gentle and loving she is with staff and volunteers who meet her. Her play style with other dogs is very vocal and loves to play wrestle, although she can sound loud she has self control and will give appropriate correction, she has maternal instincts and playing the role of the peace keeper when she is in play groups she will break up fights better than anyone with a perfect reset to other dogs behaviors. She is very aware of her size. It is required to do an appropriate meet and greet with other dogs in the house hold to make sure she is fitted with the perfect home. With what Akira has gone through we are amazed at how loving and strong she is, Akira would be the perfect addition to any family!
