Addie's story
Meet Addie!! When Addie and Fuzzie crossed our paths in June of 2017, we honestly did not know if we could help them. They were spotted by a volunteer trying to stay cool laying in curbside water that had gathered. Too afraid to allow us to touch them, they were lured by food into a back yard where they stayed for two months! We immediately treated their tick infestation orally and for the next 8 weeks, volunteers would come and sit with the girls in hopes of gaining trust. It took weeks for us to touch them, our only saving grace was their food motivation. Fast forward to today; the Golden Girls LOVE to go on walks, they have overcome their fear of car rides, they are house broken, doggie door experts and learning that not all hands harm. We initially had both Addie and Fuzzie posted to be adopted together as a
"bonded" pair but we believe they both will do fine separated in loving homes that understand their past. Addie will need time to adjust to her new family, routine and surroundings but we are confident she will thrive. Addie is more broken than Fuzzie and still has moments of fear, however, she will thrive with a safe, happy routine. Her biggest need is patience and kindness. She will make the most loving companion as she loves to be the company of humans. It is a fair bet to say that Fuzzie and Addie never experienced love or kindness until they crossed our path. Addie is dog selective so we think initially she would do best as an only pet. She loves to go on walks and loves the car. Loud sounds really do a number on her as she will shake and look for a place to hide. She always has a look as if she is trying to solve the worlds problems...but once she trusts, she is very loving. She is jaw dropping beautiful and her eye contact melts. If you are interested in adopting Addie ($200 adoption donation ), please take a moment and fill out our application.
