If you’re reading this, you already know Clarence Hinkle and his work. Hinkle was active as a painter and teacher in Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara, where he died in 1960. San Juan Capistrano (and the mission) is a neighboring town to Laguna Beach. He was known to paint several California Missions. This painting was described to me by an authority as being early work. I bought this years ago paying quite a bit because I used to attend the Mission when I lived in Laguna. I’m selling off some of my collection. I see in auctions where this type of work sold for 2700! I’m thinning out my collection so keep an eye out for more in the future. This is the first of many coming.Good luck.
