4 Low Profile 215/45R17 All Season Tires ?Kumho

I bought a 2008 Chevy Cobalt with a Rally Sport and Performance package 2 years ago to run around in. Where the package looks nice on the car, it required more upkeep than I was accustomed to maintain the polished look. NOTE: You can tell the aluminum wheels come from 2 different machining generations where 2 are great and well polished and 2 need buffed out each year to remove the pitting and marks. Then both are waxed for an ideal appearance.

To be clear?these parts are for a true car enthusiast. I simply don?t have the time, but when on the car, and cared for, they look terrific. None of the wheels are cleaned, but the all season tires are pretty clean. They also will have no problem passing inspection because they were approved before I took them off for a smaller winter tire. The ones on the wheels need cleaned, but are okay.

Both types of tires have a low profile /performance classification. Even the all season ones are performance based. I do note that even though the tires say all season, I?d still suggest to use them during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. They performed alright in the Winter, but I like a Winter tire better for safety when it gets icy and snowy.

The 215/45R17 All Season Tires by Kuhmo are dusty, but garage kept for the last 6 months. Originally, they were a 35K mile tire due to their performance and low profile background. There are no high mileage tires with this classification. Low profile tires don?t come with much tread to begin with. I put on 6K miles, but say it appears 40% of the tread is gone. Although, they would pass an inspection.

The 215/45R17-Solus KH16 Tires were just taken off, but were never cleaned after I removed them and you can tell by the bag thrown over them by the tire dealer. These were 40K mile tires and I put on roughly 11K miles on them. It also appears 50% of their tread is gone, but also can pass inspection.

Both type of tires are expensive because they are a larger tire with a low profile appearance. Brand new the Kuhmos were $250/piece ($1000 total) and the Solus KH16 were $200/piece ($800 total). The wheels sell for $150/piece ($600 total), but I?d say 2 look great and the other 2 need time to rebuff them.

Make no bones about this. I want a car to just go with little to no maintenance. These wheels and tires look terrific, but are for a person who has the time and wants to maintain a performance look. I?d also say the wheels should be re-buffed to remove the pitting and waxed for ideal appearance. I?d also only use the tires during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. You may even want to consider removing the wheels in the Winter too due to the salt and excess sand and gravel laid down by the state for traction.

The person buying must take both types of tires (all 8 tires) and all 4 wheels (2 good and 2 so-so). Brand new everything was $2200, but I am asking for $600 or best offer. I went to a smaller tire, so I won?t use these again, so maybe someone else can enjoy and maintain them. The tire dealer told me that the Kuhmo tires alone are worth the collective asking price. I would have tried to trade them in to them, but they don?t pro-rate low profile tires because performance and appearance products are not subject to pro-rating. However, this would be a nice project and does look amazing when cleaned up.
