I connecteded into this 1967 Vox Viscount V1153 in reasonable condition for a test drive and was wowed by the raw vintage power. This uncommon amp appears to be overflowing with tonal possibilities- its an unique piece of history.
The Viscount line was introduced in 1966 and used a 3 channel design for the 60 watts of solid state power and included a results line up with reverb, tremolo, leading boost, MRB and Tone X. The Vox amps during this period were produced by Thomas Organ in California, USA. Far more can be discovered this amplifier at the Vox Showroom.
My test drive of this amp was satisfying; first- it is loud. In the short video we recorded we in fact had it turned all the way down and it was a touch loud for the camera's mic and close quarters. /watch?v=C8adyj1iufY
The tone is fantastic- it has that Vox chime at the core- and the various results include charitable aidings of vintage flavor. The cabinet homes 2 initial Vox heavy responsibility 12" Bulldog speakers.
We believe completely disclosure descriptions- please take a look at the images closely and review the description, then if you have any questions kindly ask! The amplifier section works wonderful. The reverb result produces a feedback squeal when switched on and we have not put in the time to find the source. The reverb can be turned off and does not effect the function of the amp when shut off. The amp has actually seen some rock 'n roll: the tolex is torn and peeling in places, the grille fabric is torn by the logo design, the edge of the framework has some dents and the foot pedal and elegant caster frame is missing out on. Someone added casters someplace along the line by drilling holes and bolting them with the cabinet. It is not brand-new- however it is initial- and its in working order with the exception of the reverb.
This is a tasty vintage piece that is rock ready, it will definitely turn heads and stand out. Call, text or e-mail if interested- if you email please consist of a regional telephone number so I know that you are not a spammer. If you still see it here it is still for sale, I will remove it as quickly as it sells. Thanks!
