The maple wood encaps look and feel as they did when I first purchased the item. Every knob, button, and slider has the same resistance and durability as they did straight from the factory. You really cannot go wrong with this unit. The Livid controllers are the best controllers available for Ableton Live but they also work with a lot of other software, for instance, I would bounce between ableton and traktor.
