44 ft., Very Stout, Robustly built Steel Working Sailboat...

Description

Here's a 44 ft. Very Stout, Robustly built, Steel Working Sailboat Hull and OOGLES of extras.Read it all 3x PLEASE, lots of info here. This could be a FINE power yacht or work boat too.A Very Cool

Project for an Adventurous Soul in search of a STOUT VESSEL.An awesome workboat and or liveaboard. It's a bare hull inside, EXACTLY what I was looking for in JUST the right state to make it full access and PROPERLY prepped for a long corrosion free life with epoxy primers.A 44 ft sailboat / cargo boat for 2 people NOT 8.I bought the hull from a local fellow's wife.He passed away at 89.It was his third, commercial steel fishing boat to build.

It was also his smallest. The others were 65' and 54'.It was built in San Diego over a decade ago and shipped to WA after their move. This is a rolled chine hull, NOT hard chine, a difficult construction type, skill was required. He was a machinist too, a very talented guy. It's a J.P. Hartog design, known for his very robust offshore commercial, sailing, fishing boat designs.44' on deck, 13'8" beam and 7 ' draft. It's very heavy duty construction, 3/16" deck and hull plating, 1/8 " plated pilot house.Radius chines (a difficult job), 1/4"x 5" frames, 2"x 1/4" stringers, 5/8" keel plate and 1" shoe.Might double duty as an Ice Breaker. There's a removable crane with a 500 lb.

electric winch mounted on Stbd side. The forward cargo hatch is large enough to load my 17 ft ocean kayak into it AND my Suzuki DR350 Dual sport Enduro will fit if chained by the gooseneck.Includes LOTS of extras, 8 hp 3500 watt, Dayton Generator, torch and tanks, 2 stage 70 gal. Compressor, (electric

motor needs to be bolted on) pancake compressor also, arc welder, floor mount drill press, NEW Steel Cutting circular saw with extra carbide blades, chop saws,etc.etc. etc.Nice big ATLANTIC Diesel stove.Big used hydraulic deck mount fishboat anchor drum windlass. There's a large stock of exotic woods on board consisting of Asian Iron wood (enough to mount cargo slats for the whole hull cargo area from pilot house forward,.Teak and Mahogany too.Big bronze port lights,Big stainless custom deck cleats, 8+ totes, boxes and boxes of materials and supplies.24" bronze pro, new 2" SS prop shaft etc.Includes sheets of aluminum, some stainless,6+ sheets 3/4" marine ply, oogles and oogles of new steel stock on a fully loaded steel tree rack.Barrels and barrels of usable steel and stainless stockToo much to list.8000# +of new bolts in barrels for ballast, etc.Mast is aluminum and 62'.Welded steps and radar mount. There's a 19' boom and sail. The rudder has been cut out from 1/2" plate. The hull is 98% welded up weather tight except for a seam @ the pilot house window and a cut hole to pass ballast thru. It does NOT LEAK RAIN water.Inside is COMPLETELY DRY with shiny welds and primed steel.. Easy welding, No thin steel here. This vessel will require a 75 -150 hp Diesel.Luckily the diesel shop next door has some perfect candidates at good prices. My plan was a 120hp Ford Lehman diesel setting in that shop. The Work Yard where B.O.B , (BEAST of Burden), is setting is in Port Townsend, WA.It's a GREAT Location. There's a diesel shop and welding shop 60 ft away and good people in the yard.(2) Johnny on the Spots are 40 ft away and CLEANED weekly.Water is 50 ft away.New HEAVY DUTY electric service was installed last summer and 30' away. It's 3 minutes to the grocery store and gas station and 5 minutes to entertainment district. Everything you need is very close by.All the people in the yard are cool, helpful, watchful and good to have as neighbors.Rent is a BARGAIN too.$200/ month if paid by the year and $270 if paying monthly. The exotic wood, tools, diesel stove, bronze port lights, generator and oogles more are worth the starting bid alone.I have more info and pics .SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE.Can show with notice only.Don't WASTE YEARS building a good hull or YEARS making a rusted out wreck float again. This hull will last your lifetime + !I've made three 2200 mile trips bringing out tools and supplies to get started with my grand plan. Then COVID and LIFE happened and plans crash. New life plan for me includes Caribbean latitudes earlier than expected. Yay!I'm down $12k already listing at this price so ...I don't mind answering questions, shoot away but...There's a saying that "There are NO stupid questions".... That's NOT TRUE !Examples of stupid questions:(usually novis dreamers).Q. So can I move on board now?

  A. SURE, why not.Q. How much work is there to do to launch? A. Some.Q. Is there room for my family of eight?A. SURE, The plans call for fish cargo of 20,000 lbs and 1000 gallons of diesel soSo theoretically you could get 180 people on board if you fold and stack them properly.PLEASE, Don't be an IDIOT and ask me about shipping. DUH !It is where it is in an EXCELLENT location.Wanna move it , fine, that's on you. I've already moved it once and did a jam up job getting it to that great spot. This is a HUGE, SUPER STOUT VESSEL.It would take YEARS and TENS of Thousands to build to this point.I have more photos, there's a

photo album inside showing her being built. I'll see if I can download some. It's humbling and impressive that Don built this solo.I have a friend next door in the diesel shop who has agreed to open up the boat for you to inspect. I'm NOT asking him to waste time for tire kickers. So Don't be that.Bargain of the year if you're looking for a strong hull. This is NOT a boat YET, it's a HULLI will provide you with a bill of sale for an unfinished steel sailboat hull and another for all of the supplies and tools included .Thanks for looking,CheersKevin
