My story

　　This beautiful girl is Betsy. She is a mixed breed dog who appears to have some Australian Shepherd or Border Collie mixed in. She has a stocky build which makes her a Medium sized dog. She is just over 50lbs. Betsy is 3yrs old, already spayed and very affectionate and loyal to her person. Betsy is very smart and does very well with training and learning. She is nervous in new situations but if you are confident and calm she doesn’t take long to adjust to new surroundings.  Betsy is sensitive and likes to be right with you. She wants lots of attention but is learning to sit and wait to help build her confidence. Betsy is interested in other dogs, however she has an “in charge” personality and will put another dog in their place right away. She is not recommended for a home with another female dog. If you have a male dog that doesn’t care and will allow her to boss him around and be in charge, that might work. You can bring your dog in during our animal viewing hours listed below to see if they get along.  Betsy talks to you when she wants your attention.  She warms up to new people within a few minutes of getting used to them. Betsy may do best in an adult home or a home with older children who understand how to be a part of her training. Betsy will make a lovely, loyal companion and would enjoy being your hiking partner to explore. To start the adoption process for this pet, visit the shelter during our animal viewing hours. After having a visit with them, you can fill out an adoption application at our facility.
