According to the Bowlus website, the founder Hawley Bowlus original idea and design quickly found both admirers and would-be copycats, including Wally Byam of Airstream, who attempted to duplicate his work. Now Bowlus is back to take back part of a market that it claims to have started. The Road Chief has a monocoque construction of a TIG-welded aluminum spaceframe and a riveted 2024 T3 aluminum exterior shell. Eighty aluminum panels, 5,000 rivets, and 100 hours of polishing give the Road Chief its shiny aerodynamic bullet appeal. Each unit is hand-built in California. Inside, the Road Chief has equally impressive materials with real wood, aluminum, steel, and luxury fabrics. It features a 12-volt fridge and freezer, a microwave that can run on battery power, a two-burner Italian stovetop, a stainless steel countertop, a stainless steel sink, a full-length mirror, a vanity with a medicine cabinet, and two wardrobe closets. 　　About We Are Airstream Chandler

　　In 1998 Aaron and Kristie Korges approached a fork in the road and made the decision to embark on the journey of a lifetime opening a small RV dealership in Arizona that mainly sold pre-owned motorhomes. They loved their new endeavor, and over the years built a nationwide reputation as a reliable source for quality pre-owned RVs and excellent customer service, which attracted the attention of several of the big RV manufacturers.

　　With this stellar reputation within the industry, the big RV manufacturers began reaching out and wanting to have Aaron and Kristie sell their products at the dealership. The couple saw the value in selling new motorhomes, travel trailers and toy haulers from the biggest names in the business, and in turn created one of the largest family-owned RV dealerships in the southwest. It was during this time that Aaron and Kristie became acquainted with Airstream, and it turned out to be the perfect partnership as they incorporated the Airstream travel trailer product line at their dealership.

　　As time passed, Aaron and Kristie became more and more impressed and invested in the Airstream brand as they knew that it was the pinnacle of the RV lines. Without a second thought, in 2017, the couple set off on another journey opening Airstream of Scottsdale, a small boutique dealership in north Scottsdale. They knew that they had made the right move when all the pieces started to fall into place, most importantly – the team. The stars aligned and they were able to bring in Ken Baker, an Airstream professional with more than 41 years of Airstream retail knowledge, as the General Manager. Ken proceeded to recruit a dynamic sales staff and a basis for an elite service center. Together they formed the backbone of this small, topnotch dealership.

　　Big things were in the works, and as part of their 10th Anniversary as an Airstream dealership, the Korges closed the Airstream of Scottsdale and in turn unveiled the new name and location of the dealership of their dreams: We Are Airstream – Chandler, a fully enclosed state-of-the-art showroom and service center unsurpassed in the market. At this first-class location, employees and customers can take their time and enjoy working and shopping in a year around climate-controlled facility.

　　Airstream recognized the Korges commitment to their product line and announced that We Are Airstream – Chandler will also be an Airstream motorized dealership. The new dealership is now open to the public and the team is eager to assist in finding the perfect Airstream for your needs.

　　Like all Airstreamers, Aaron and Kristie decided explore new places and get to know new people. They purchased Airstream of Santa Barbara in Buellton, California, just a stone’s throw from Santa Barbara. Ken Baker, a Californian at heart, has also assumed the General Manager position of this dealership and will divide his time between the two locations. Aaron and Kristie were able to retain a solid group of professionals with the Airstream of Santa Barbara staff and are very happy to welcome them and We Are Airstream – Santa Barbara to the We Are Airstream Superstore family.
