For sale: 2003 Indian Chief. 100cu. 1683cc. Includes a windshield, Boss saddle bags with quick-release easy brackets and Indian dealer custom paint.
Number 3 of 50, but I have been informed that only 8 were actually painted in this manner.
It has Limby front crash bars, a dip-stick temperature gauge, a 1 year old battery, and a Mikuni 42 Racing carb. The bike has aftermarket Vance & Hines “long shot” pipes, a K & N high-flow air filter.
This bike has always been run on Amsoil synthetic oil and includes an aftermarket, external oil cooler with an upgraded oil pump to maintain cool engine operating temperatures under any condition. It has a lowered shock, and accompanying kick-stand. The bike has only 12- 15K miles although the original odometer/speedometer has been replaced.
Currently, the speedometer in the bike is not working (it went out again last summer), but replacement parts are widely available and easily installed.
This motorcycle has been lovingly maintained by a certified Indian dealer/sale representative the entire time I’ve owned her. I am the second owner since it was bought new in 2003. This bike has been part of a “tribe” of 4 Indian Chiefs, rode together, maintained together and generally cherished together. This has been a remarkably reliable bike and a joy to ride. I am selling to buy a new bike.
The paint job is a “must see.”
I have personally never seen another like it even at the Indian Motorcycle Rally in Indian Point Missouri. From a distance, it appears to be cobalt blue but, as you get closer, the black “webbing” begins to become apparent.
This has been a source of many compliments over the years.
