Making its debut in 1994, the Saleen 281 CID Extreme model now utilized a Saleen-built 4.6 L 3V SOHC V8 Engine (Spark Ignition Configuration) which changed the stock Ford 4.6 L 2V SOHC V8 Engine. Noteworthy external distinctions on the S-281E showcased a rear fascia with center exhaust, an unintergrated big spoiler and replacement of the Ford Mustang fender logo designs with Saleen logo designs. With the brand-new Fifth-generation Ford Mustangs presented in 2005, a front splitter and rear diffuser were introduced below the front and rear fascias to enhance automobile aerodynamics. Remarkably, the 6-speed Tremec T-56 manual transmission used from the 2 age was originally in use for the short lived 2 Pontiac GTO.
