I call the bike TinMan, and the restoration 'Project TinMan'.
This is a low mileage 2001 Triump Daytona 955i that was a project I took on in late 2021, early 2022 going into late pandemic phases and I needed a winter project.
The bike was laid down by it's original owner and left in my friends garage for 12 years, I bought the bike from the owner and spent all of winter 2022 restoring it to a loved condition.
Title is clean and in hand, 4,159mi on ODO.I am selling because it was a project, and I am 45 and have a BMW touring bike that I much more enjoy riding, haha.
Need to make room in the garage for something else.Factory Options:Carbon Fiber Tank GuardRear Seat Cowl (matching Aluminum Silver)Rear Passenger SeatTool Kit In-tactFactory ManualSeveral spare factory bits and parts worth saving I threw in a zip lock bag for next ownerRestoration:Massive teardown to essentially motor-in-frameAll plastics and seals treatedAir Box CleanedNew BatteryNew Fuel Pump/Filter ScreenNew Triumph Fuel Level SenderNew Spark PlugsNew Vacuum Lines, cleared evapBrake Calipers full re-builds and fasteners refreshedBrake Rotors DeglazedBrake Master Cylinders replaced and rebuiltNew Brake Lines and Line hardwareMultistep Paint Cleanup, Bar, Light ceramic coating appliedAll Fuses ReplacedEntire Cooling System Flushed and cleared of blockages inluding resevoirFull chain scrub and lubricationAll lock cylinders lubricated and restoredRe-polished all chromeUpdates:Metzler Roadtec Z8 Interact Tires (M-Spec) (new April, 2023)Spiegler Performance Brake Lines (Red)Speed BleedersGas Tank - Caswell Epoxy Gas Tank Sealer Lined - Dragon's Blood Red (this year plagued by expansion with ethanol expansion issues), so you can use US fuels with ethanol.K&N Air FilterE3 Spark PlugsInstrument Cluster fully upgraded to LEDs (with diode turn signal integration)Headlights/Taillights/Indicator Lights all updated to LEDDigital Adjustable Timing Blinker FlasherUpdated LED Turn Signals (original turn signal plastic was literally crumbling), I chose a style I thought was befitting modernizing the bikeRed Aluminum Shorty Levers (original levers will be included with the bike, see photos)Cosmetic Issues:Not all the bodywork D-rings are in perfect condition, but I placed most of those near the bottom.Light scuff on L-side fairing, L-side of Cowl (from original owner)Light scuff on R-Side Fairing lower opening (from original owner)Slight discoloration near Shifter lever on frame (could possibly be worked out by professional)Bolt Holes in Tank forward Fairing have cracks under stickers (shown cosmetic issue photos)Partial Crack on L-side mirror plastic near instrument cowlDriver foot-peg underneath has rash, not visible in riding position--All of the cosmetic issues are covered (hidden within) in a vinyl scheme I came up with to decorate over them vs expensive repainting, etc.. All of the carbon fiber look and red accents on the cowl and the TinMan logo are removable custom vinyl (if you'd like to remove for painting, etc).No Check Engine Codes, the only thing I can't figure out is the the low fuel level sensor light on the dash stays on all the time, I installed a new low fuel sensor from Triumph (have receipt), It was something I was going to ask a dealer to see if they could resolve, or possibly the light in the dash needs to be incandescent vs LED for the circuit to work correctly.Stand shown not includedSold as-is.
