Description

  - Stock #67073 - In 1989, when CEO Jimmy Fulks launched Mariah Boat Company, he started with an empty lot in the quiet midwestern town of Benton, Illinois, and with an idea of what people really wanted. He wanted to build boats like no other. He wanted to pack them with more features than any other boat, features people wanted. Today, Mariah's plant occupies that empty lot and those boats imagined long ago are a reality - complete with the luxury features usually reserved for high-end automobiles. In that plant, Mariah builds one of the most unique boats on the market: the Z302. Part bow rider and part cuddy cabin, this mixed-breed hearkens back to the midcabin commuter boats that were once popular among jet-setters who ferried back and forth from Long Island to Manhattan. As such, it is a boat with expanded appeal, especially for those who want the overnight capability of a cuddy, yet don't want to relinquish the family utility of a bow rider. Another factor that adds appeal is the boat's length. At 30 feet long, the 302 is a great boat for larger lakes, and it also would be ideal for making the passage between Florida's east coast and the Bahamas. Once you have arrived at your destination, you could break out the cabin's berth filler cushions and spend the night. Inside the cabin, you'll find the uncommon touches that set Mariah apart from other builders. Each forward wall is fitted with an oval mirror, which makes the cabin feel more spacious. Storage compartments beneath each berth would be ideal for luggage and personal effects because there is plenty more storage for other gear under the cockpit and bow seating. To starboard, there's a freshwater sink, which you would expect in a boat this size There also is a television with a built-in VCR with remote control. With the berth cushions installed, people over 6 feet tall can stretch out. Interestingly, the 302's cabin ceiling also is noteworthy. Unlike other builders who might slather an unfinished surface with glue and attach some fabric, Mariah uses a mold-finished gel-coat headliner. It also installed vents, overhead lights and stretch netting compartments that hold small items. Fore and aft doors close to keep out wind and rain. In the bow, the seats fill in with cushions to create a spacious sunning area or just some forward seating. Passengers can either access the bow via the cabin, or climb through the windshield and across the nonskid decking. This makes the cabin a great place where children can nap undisturbed. At the helm, the driver looks over full instrumentation, which also includes a depth finder, a Ritchie compass and a Lowrance global map unit. Helm seats feature custom drop-out bottoms, which are electrically adjustable while in the "up" position. Mariah also provided two footwells for the driver: one to be used when standing, the other for sitting. Nice touch. There also are some really nice touches throughout the boat. A power antenna flanks the power-up anchor light. A grab rail that surrounds the rear sun pad looks like its more for form than function, but it's in just the right place for swimmers coming from the swim platform. Likewise, the telescoping ladder drops a full 18 inches into the water, making egress easier. More grab rails at the top of the ladder are ideally placed for getting a grip. At the helm, a heavy-gauge fold-down step helps people through the windshield opening and forward to the bow. Behind each helm seat, there is a gel-coated fiberglass compartment built in. Each compartment is large and dry enough to hold a cellular phone. This listing has now been on the market a couple months. Please submit any and all offers today!
